Artist Statement

My work explores the space between dreams and reality, where the boundary between the body and the universe fades. The figures in my paintings exist in a suspended world, where the subconscious takes form through fragmented, intertwined, or dissolving bodies, absorbed into a dark, flowing energy.
Using oil on canvas, I try to capture the fleeting moment when identity begins to shift, opening the way for transformation. The body becomes a gateway, a passage between the visible world and inner perception, between what is real and what is unknown.
Through my paintings, I invite the viewer to step into this threshold, to experience both the mystery and the beauty of the unknown, and to embrace the idea that existence is always shifting and evolving.

Bio

Ania Tomicka was born in 1985 in Poland and currently lives and works in Prato, Italy.
After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and Florence, she fully dedicated herself to her artistic research, participating in numerous group exhibitions worldwide and solo shows in Italy, United States and Germany.
She is currently developing a pictorial style that blends elements of classical realism with surreal and dreamlike visions
